Staycation, Staycation, Staycation

We recently managed to nip away for a cheeky week’s holiday before school starts back again. We booked a cottage at Anglesey Sea Views Cottages on Holy Island, near Trearddur Bay - a small collection of beautiful individual cottages pretty much in the middle of nowhere, with views across to Snowdonia.

The weather was mostly good, it stayed dry and we spent a lot of time exploring the island. Highlights of the trip were:

• Staying in an amazing cottage - really spacious and everything you could want including a hot-tub and a welcome hamper (www.angleseyseaviews.co.uk)

• Visit to The Hydeout Bar-B-Q & Smokehouse in Menai Bridge (www.hydeoutbbq.com) - fantastic food and service - so good we went back twice!

• Day out to Beaumaris - Puffin Island boat trip, exploring round the castle, lunch and a little shopping

• On our final day we traveled to Zip Fforest in North Wales - the boys did the Zip Safari 2 - an obstacle course 18m up in the trees with multiple zip wires which they really enjoyed, and I took the time to do some more Wooden Daisy designs whilst I watched.

All in all, a relaxing week, but it is nice to be back home.
